I LOVED The SilverHawks

It was the greatest show ever to a 13yr old teen who lived for Voltron,ThunderCats & SilverHawks I miss the great cartoons & wish the would bring them all back on Boomerang so I can have a reason to actually WANT the Dish!! Cartoons are just not as fun as they use to be!!Kids don't know what they've missed.

I'm always happy to see that there are other people who love Silverhawks as much as me. It really needs to come out from under Thundercats' shadow, and I'm hoping that with this year being the 20th Anniversary of Silverhawks, the show might finally get the attention it's due.

they dont do it like they used to. No sir, no more G.I. joe type of cartoons, although i didnt watched G.I. joe, i watched silverhawks and thundercats, G.I. joe was on the time of my older brother alright.

Today cartoons, they arent like they used to be, now the animation is simplier and not as stylized as in silverhawks, japanese animation has taken over, even thundercats and silverhawks were made by japanese animators.

I have recently started watching toons of the 80s again after watching many of the modern toons with my youngster relatives. (nephew, neice, etc.) and there is really no comparison to some of the older toons.

Silverhawks, though simplistic in story design is so much better in visuals than pretty much all of modern toons.

Thundercats. Same as above. But not all of the stories are comepletely simplistic.

G.I. Joe. This show kicked ass.

Transformers. Nuff said.

He-Man. Which is *beep* ridiculous, but is hilarious and fun to watch as an elder, but send a positive message if you are a youngster.

Brave Star. Pretty original. Not entirely dumb. But no parallels are in today's culture.

I could go on. Modern toons suck. Except some of the comedy ones like Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, and Harvey Birdman to name a few.

(I miss when they would have positive messages at the end of shows. Though cheesy, its rather charming to me that they were attempting to help teach a lesson to the kiddos. Whether they paid attention or not. Ha.)

I learned how to pet a dog by watching GI Joe! Thanks Hawkeye!

I love them too. 80's cartoons rule! Cartoons today just don't do anything for me.

I'm the itch you can't scratch, the gas you can't pass

They don't make great cartoons like this anymore. Cartoons today are sad and pathetic. I can't watch them. I can watch cartoons I loved as a kid in the 80's and still love them. That says a lot about their quality.

Cartoons today are just...blah. Give me an 80's great any day!

Ahhh Silverhawks. The memories....

Thundercats, Transformers, Voltron, Visionaries, M.A.S.K (anyone remember that one?) G.I. Joe....man how privledged we were to have cartoons with sustinance....The only cartoon I watch today is Dragonball Z....there's just something about yelling a bizzare phrase and having a huge beam of energy blast from your hands that thrills me...

Man, Saturday mornings just aren't what they used to be. And it wasn't so long ago that cartoons were watchable -- the new Justice League, Batman Beyond, X-Men Evolution. Now, they're literally unwatchable. I miss - MISS - the days of The Transformers, the Superfriends -- anyone remember that?? -- He-Man, the Pirates of Darkwater, even, and how about the Herculoids? I do remember M.A.S.K., and it was fabulous (Ma-Ma-Ma-Mask ...), and of course, Thundercats. And the theme songs!! They stay with you forever. Sometimes you hear something, or remember a snippet of something and then - WHAM! - it hits you, and you remember it! Those were real cartoons. The stuff they make today is just utter garbage.

I guess I was about 14 and loved this show. Granted it was like Thundercats in respects, but it was a great cartoon.

I've had a pain in the a$$ for the past 45 years! You got any soup for that?

reply

This was a fun show and definitely deserves more love. I hear it was very popular in Latin America, especially Mexico, and that it's not uncommon for whole conventions to stop and sing along with the theme song if they hear it playing.
