Can't we do anything to get more seasons released?

I understand the theme song by David Pomeranz cost some money to use for the DVDs but you'd surely think that they would be able to make more money off selling the later seasons? They just need to get the advertisement out to let people know you can get this great show on DVD.

I'd almost go as far as to go to handing out flyers to get people's attention back on Perfect Strangers.

Are you sure it's the theme song that's expensive and not all the pop songs and other tv themes that Balki is always singing?

reply

I loved the pop songs that Balki was using during the show but he did not sing all of the words to the songs so there is no infringement in that I think in my opinion.

Maybe we could all buy a few copies to give away as gifts. Every little bit helps and ALOT of people liked this show when it was on the air. I know I would have been grateful if someone gave it to me.

Balki almost never sang the songs right, so I don't think that those would be the songs that would prevent it from going on DVD. Not much copyright infringement.

Are you sure it is just the theme song, and not some other rights to the show like any songs that might have been played on an episode? There is a web site called tvshowsondvd.com , that you can check and e-mail the owner of the site Gort but you can always and you pretty much will have to it to check the release calendar before you go to e-mail to see what is holding up the rest of the seasons from being released. Sales off the first 2 seasons on the dvd could have a factor in this. But if you do e-mail Gort and ask him about the show you had better know as to who owns the rights to the show, since I would believe that he wouldn't know, and that is more important then station(s) that this show has aired on at points, but not too sure if there is much we can do for the rest or any more to be released.

Yeah, Warner (who owns the rights) is just being cheap. Sales were apparently good for the first 2 seasons according to everything I read, and licensing costs definitely aren't as much for covers sung by actors, it's all a case of Warner not wanting to release more and using this as an excuse. I'd rather they get rid of the songs sung during the episodes and released the seasons (it's not that crucial to the show anyway)
