If people on tv.com say it, it must be true, right? RIGHT?!
People on tv.com claimed that the 1996 VHS and Fox Family airings of the season 2 premiere, "Open House", cut the scene where they make sun tea.
Turns out they were wrong, as I watched said 1996 VHS version on YouTube, and the scene was there. Even the shot of Thomas Jefferson's head on Mt. Rushmore gasping, when Pee-wee flies past them in the end credits, was intact. On one hand, the 2004 DVD replaced this with a standard shot. But on the other hand, it restores the original end credits logo; the VHS features the BRB Productions logo. Mr. Reubens never once worked with BRB from 1987-1988; only Steve Binder's Binder Entertainment.

I haven't seen the 1989 VHS version (from Hi-Tops Video), but I'd imagine that one was 100% identical to the original 9/19/87 airing.
I'm still trying to find out if the original airing of "Ice Cream Soup" from 9/13/86 featured Pee-wee finding a penny on the floor, and mentioning the Penny cartoon. The earliest CBS airing of an episode I've seen is a repeat of "The Restaurant" from 1/17/87.
