Was 'Rainy Day' the first filmed episode?

As every die-hard fan knows, in the first season, they would shoot scenes completely randomly. For example, they would shoot scenes from one episode, then shoot scenes from another, then back to shooting more scenes from the same episode, and so on, and so on. It wasn't until season 2, that they actually moved on to filming one episode entirely, before moving on to the next, like in pretty much every other filmed series.

In "Rainy Day", the first act at least, Pee-wee sounds different, the original Globey doesn't have his white neck yet, and Pee-wee opens the picturephone drape right, rather than to the left, among other differences.

Thoughts?

No. Rainy Day was the third episode filmed. Ice Cream Soup was the first episode filmed. They are the only 2 episodes that ever had any rain in the entire series.

The First Season I believe was shot on the East Coast. The Second - Fifth Seasons I believe were shot on the West Coast. I think that is why there were some cast changes due to the fact of changing the filming location.

Pee-wee's Playhouse - Complete Series on Blu Ray and Pee-wee's Playhouse - Special Edition on DVD - Seasons 1 and 2 will be available to buy on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. I can only assume Pee-wee's Playhouse - Special Edition - Seasons 3 - 5 will be released sometime in 2015.
