The infamous 2-part earthquake episode, "Sounds From A Silent Clock," aired on September 13th and 20th, 1987. On October 1st, 1987 was the Whittier earthquake, which most of Southern California felt. We live about 7 miles south of the epicenter, and when the earthquake occurred, I immediately thought of that episode! Did anyone else find this to be a strange coincidence?
shareYes. I was 5 years old when this series was on, and that show was my first introduction to earthquakes. In fact, that's all I can remember from that show.
I remember watching it and being very scared that something like that could happened; I had never experienced anything like that before. And then all of my worst fears were confirmed when an earthquake hit several days later. Very freaky.
I think that was the first time I saw the show too. I remember watching it in my best friend's living room. But, I live in Iowa, so I have no exposure to a real earthquake other than the ride/event at Universal Studios :) That was enough for me.
