Where is the house located?

It doesn't look like a backlot, but more like a regular old house. I live in Pasadena and it looks like it would fit right in here! I loved this show as a teenager and it would be awesome to drive by and see it in person. Any ideas?

It was an actual house if I can remember, I was in one of the episodes.. and I think I remember it not being on a back lot.. I will check with my mom... she'd remember, I was about 9 at the time.

You were in an episode? How fun!

I hope your mom has a great memory and knows the answer to my question!

It's called the Mills View House and it's in Monrovia. Can't remember the street, but you go up Myrtle to Hillcrest, turn left, and it's on one of the sidesteets to the north (mountain) side.

It's also on the market right now for about $2 million.

I live in Pasadena too, and grew up in Monrovia and Arcadia. San Gabriel Valley boy through and through.

Only if they've been on television.

I saw the house you were talking about (it's on Melrose in Monrovia) on this Google search - http://la.curbed.com/archives/2007/03/on_the_market_m.php.

Nice house, but not the one the Witherspoon family lived in on "Our House." Darn... the search continues!

reply

I wonder if the house still stands.
I'd love to find it myself. I was so excited to find the poltergeist house. Though, Our house didn't seem that popular.

that looks like the house used in the horror movie "House" starring William Katt

Did anybody bother to look up filming locations ?

That one address in the fining location is wrong, that's why people are asking. Who knows what that address is for.

The only listed location is Placerita Canyon Ranch. I've been there before and I'm pretty sure it's where David and his class had their field trip on the earthquake episode.

The house was not in the San Gabriel Valley. I remember reading back in the day that it was somewhere in Los Angeles, right in the city, not in the suburbs. I remember that because I was really surprised to find out that it was not located in some suburban neighborhood. I can't remember exactly where they said it was, though. Could have been Silverlake, Highland Park, or in another older L.A. neighborhood.

If it wasn't the Mills House, and it was in Los Angeles, I'd say it's in Angelino Heights, between Sunset Blvd. and Dodger Stadium, or possibly on the Marymount College campus in the West Adams district. I suppose I'll have to watch an episode or two to find out if it's one of the popular filming locations around here.
