Is this something she's doing bc it's the 25th season? The only great episodes were the twins and america's bravest families one. Idk maybe I'm not her target demographic but these celebs don't appeal to me. Am I the only one? Sort of seems like a random mix.
February is ratings sweeps month, and what better way to attract large audiences than with celebrity names? This is the last season of the show, and I think she wants to go out on top (of course). The past few seasons, she was losing audience share to "Judge Judy" in the major cities/4PM markets. This is one way to gain them back.

Yes, most people find the celebrity interviews interesting.
Can you imagine how many calls the producers have gotten this season from agents trying to get their clients on the show? Celebrities wanting to get a piece of all that "25th Season" attention. They've probably turned down more than they've booked.
Most of Oprah's shows have been focusing on celebrities for quite some time now, but moreso this season since it's her last.

IMO focusing on celebs isnt what got her the #1 spot. Wasnt it her change your life tv theme?

I think she's doing the right thing by ending it now. She seemed to be phoning it in the last few seasons and that's understandable seeing as she's been doing this for longer than 25 years. Besides it's not like she's throwing in the towl for good. She's got the OWN network going and her magazine and all that.

I could take or leave the celeb shows. I loved the Meredith Baxter & Roseanne interviews, for example, because they are celebs but they are talking about issues that anyone could have dealt with. I don't really find the ones where the celebs come on to push their latest project & rehash stuff that's been said everywhere.
