Who Still Watches It?

Just curious how many here still watch "Matlock" on re-runs on a fairly daily/semi-daily basis?

reply

Sometimes I catch it on HMC early in the mornings. I've seen them all though.

I'm watching it fairly reguglarly- got it on my dvr. The 'lnsp channel' shows the 2 parter episodes in succession, which I appreciate :)

I do! I love Matlock when I'm feeling nostalgic, takes me back 20 years to my Grandma's living room. I mentioned this to her recently and she laughed. Apparently she doesn't tune in anymore! ?

I watched Matlock all the time as a kid (and Diagnosis Murder), so yeah, I still enjoy watching the reruns.

{Look at me and mah clevah nicksies.}

Now Diagnosis Murder is a show that I catch on a regular basis. Unlike Matlock; it's very cheesy but I enjoy it a little more than Matlock.

I vaguely remember this show when it was originally on. As you said, MeTV is starting this show from the pilot so I'll be watching all of these episodes from the very beginning!

Thanks for the post.

Calvin? Wh... Why do you keep calling me Calvin?

It stands the test of time. Some may see it as the poor man's 'Perry Mason', but it's a quality show. And watching it only goes to highlight just how far television has declined in the past 20 years.

I don't watch it on a daily basis, however, I do watch it when the marathons are on. I've been watching this show ever since I was a child and love it. I have not seen every episode, so it's still very fun when I catch an episode thats new to me.

I have been tuning in of late to catch the episodes that are on now, which are the last few episodes. I can't recall why, but for some odd reason, I never caught many of the ABC episodes when they first aired.

reply

I watch it now and then. This instant watching Season 1, Episode 1 a two hour pilot and it is a different Matlock than later episodes. He is very talkative, outwardly egotistical, and not cantankerous as in later episodes I am accustomed to.

Watching Matlock right now, watch a couple episodes at least once a week. My 8 year old son and 11 year old daughter will watch it with me some times. Dont make shows like this any more you can watch with the whole family.

I am watching the episode The Good Boy. I can't figure out yet how to tell the plot summary under this episode. The story starts with Tony, the stepson telling his stepfather, Cal, that he isn't going to a military school. Tony states that he isn't going. His stepfather threatens to tell his mother the truth. Then Tony smacks him a good one then starts a fire then he switches the clock back. The police then goes to Cal's home and tells his wife the bad news. Matlock then gets involved as her attorney. Matlock is supicious about the clock being switched back. Matlock continues to ask Tony when he gets home that night. Tony keeps insisting at 5:30pm. Matlock tells Tony that the killer must of started the fire at 5:00 pm. in order to have an alibi.The guard even knows that Cal threatened to place Tony in a military school.
