This could really be something...

I'm currently watching few episodes of "Maison Ikkoku" and I'm surprised how good they are ( at least until now ). Also, I'm really surprised at how unknown this anime series is! I basically never heard of it before!

Rumiko Takahashi again proved to be an interesting romance author. Inuyasha is one of my favorites of her, but this could even top her if it keeps the quality.

True, some of the characthers are annoying ( mostly the ones who are always interurpting the hero by marching in in his room ) but it still seems damn good.

hold of some of the episodes.

So how is the Manga? No spoilers yet, please, I still haven't finished watching this.

Maybe you can download it from Limewire or buy the DVDs on the internet from e-bay or something. My favorite episode currently is number 54 ( I think ), called "Nudity attack", when a girl student tried to seduce Godai! It was hilarious and amazing at the same time.

Even if i havent read the first volume.

Amazing that people are starting to find this over here. My friends and I started collecting anime and manga back in the 80's. My laser disc collection is filled with it. Of everything we collected, I could never get any of my friends to watch this series or read the manga or the American re-release comics. I gave up on the idea more than a decade ago. At least it's nice to see some are finaly starting to get into it. Mabey it will get a full DVD release so I can watch it again as I have placed my laser disc player and collection in storage.

certainly one of the best manga and anime ever produced, songs included.

something like this will never be produced again because it typifies the 1980s to an extent. a modern equivalent with possibly the same standard wopuld be Happy Mania, the manga produced by the wife of Evangelions author.

Borrowed a tape from my brother. Only episode he has, WELCOME TO MAISON IKKIKU. I like RANMA 1/2, so I thought of checking out this series too.
