US television presentations?

Anyone know if this comes on TV in the US now? Haven't seen it since A&E in the early 90's. Maybe BBCA or Biography channel?

reply

I think it may still appear on BBC America, but I'm not sure. I don't have cable now, so I rely on what I taped from A& E and also the videos I purchased.

I wish our PbS station would show Lovejoy. Some of my videos are getting very old.

Has anyone had any word on if or when Region 1 DVDs will become available?

It's got to be soon, right? The U.K. already has all 6 or 7 seasons on DVD, now. I can't believe the studios would let this opportunity pass them up. Plus, the popularity of "Deadwood" has got to push up Ian McShane's stock.

It's being shown on a local PBS like station where I live called WYBE - http://www.wybe.org/ They show it Thursday nights along with Friday at 12pm. Actually how I discovered the show and I love it. I've been forced to download episodes to catch up on current events, WYBE shows Season 3 on Thursdays and Season 5 on Fridays. I'm really hoping for a Region 1 DVD release soon.

The DVD's are Region 0 so they'll play of NTSC DVD's.

reply

Region 0 DVDs (like the Lovejoy DVDs) will pay on any DVD player that has a PAL/NTSC converter (I bought mine at Wal-Mart - they're cheap). A region 0 DVD played on a player without a PAL/NTSC converter will give you a headache-inducing picture.

I have every season on PAL region 0 and they play just fine on my NTSC equipment, and in fact the quality is better than the PBS airings !!!
