'Lovejoy' on ITV3

From what I remember "Lovejoy" aired on BBC1 in the late nineties. Why is it now being shown on the ITV series of digital channels? Thanks for any help.

Its good to see this forum still going!

It was actually 1986; with the second series onwards being produced in the early - mid 1990s. Some episodes were repeated in an afternoon slot around 2001-ish.

It is being repeated because the BBC have sold the rights to show it, along with some of their other classics (such as 'The Two Ronnies') to ITV3. I think it was silly of them to do so as they are very good shows, but it's good that a channel (and a free to air one at that) is still running them.
