The beeb have the ability to commission good stuff these days but also their still dropping the ball with other programmes. The Lovejoy of the books is very un-pc , not sure the beeb will go with that although Lovejoys views on modern life are both hilarious and to the point . Lovejoy going Speed Dating in 'Faces in the Pool' was worth the price of the book alone ,but who can play him? McShane from the early series was so good, he WAS Lovejoy.
yes, lovejoy in the books is extremely unPc and i imagine they would tone that down. his attitude towards women I imagine would give the people at the BBc a seizure. The books are also way more violent than the old T v series. But it would certainly be more interesting than making something just like the old series.
