I can only see 2 differences.....
between the videotape that I made when ALP aired on PBS in the 80s and the two-cassette version from Family Films, and those are: 1) Donald's father, who is employed by Mr. Carrisford to find Sarah, opens his mail and says, "Good Lord! I must buy a house!"~~~"Good Lord" was taken out, and 2) when deciding how much Christmas money to give the help, Miss Minchin says,"Give the same to Becky. She's an idle slut". "Idle slut" was taken out~~~guess they thought it was too "suggestive" for children or something, but "Good Lord"??? We're getting a tad picky here.
However, they left in the huge statue of Kali, with her long red tongue, bulging breasts and her necklace of skulls. Guess it would have been too hard to edit something that important out!! Family Films should have left it as it was on PBS.
Can't wait for the DVD, however! Even the 2-cassette edition I bought several years ago is grainy.
