Best + Worst Characters on the show

Best:
Leland McKenzie was a calming influence and good at managing all the egos at the firm but at the same time had a huge ego and was not a person to cross.
Tommy Mullaney was at first very abrasive but once you got used to him, he was really one of the only bright spots in the later season.
Michael Kuzak always got the high profile and had some of the best closing arguments ever.
Benny Stullwicz was such a realistic portrayal of a retarded character.

Worst:
Gwen Taylor was the most annoying character. Every plotline surrounding her was absolutely horrible.
Roxanne was annoying at times. All she did was complain and whine.
Arnie in the later seasons got to be annoying. The character got really tired and it seemed like the producers ran out of good storylines for him.
Abby was good in the first couple seasons but was misused after the firm took her back. They could not figure out what to do with her character so they made her a lesbian. It's no surprised that they dumped her after season 5.

Best recurring characters.
Hamilton Schuyler was a great character. Had David Rappaport survived, he may have gotten more guest appearances and even his own show.
Jack Sollers seemed to steal every scene he was in during season 5. He was as arrogant and cocky as Michael Kuzak but less wooden and more comical. The firm had hired him after Victor, Michael & Grace. Why they did not kept the character around after that is a huge mystery.
Murray Mellman provided a lot of comic relief in season 5. Vincent Gardenia was an underrated actor.
Rosalind Shays was one of the most manipulative, head strong characters on television at the time and had one of the most memorable demises in television history.

Agree with Leland and Tommy being part of the best. Loved Benny too.

Have to disagree vehemently about Kuzak. Never had any love for him.

Agree on Rox & Arnie part of the worst, but I liked a lot Abby and didn't mind Gwen.

Good topic though.

FYC:

Rosiland as the best candidate and Susan Bloom as a worst.

Yes, the Kuzak character was polarizing. He was definitely not the most likeable character but he did have some memorable story-lines and trials. I don't know maybe it was just that the show went downhill after he left.

The Arnie character was decent in the first couple of seasons but it seemed like every storyline after season 5 with him was dull or dumb. Once he got with Rox, it just was not very believable.

Abby was great in the first couple of seasons as well. But once they brought in CJ, Tommy and Zoey, her fate was sealed. She was pretty much relegated to a background character.

I did not really care for Susan Bloom but I did find it funny how she would irritate Leland.

No doubt once CJ, Tommy and Zoe came in, Abby was doomed.

I enjoyed most of CJ's scenes as well.

Kinda thought they could do more with her over time.

I actually liked every one of the main characters seasons 1-5, even Rosalind haha.

I’m midway through season 1. I really like Victor. He seems honorable, charming; and as someone with a background in criminal defense, I admire his beliefs and dedication to his work
