'Ah, de memories' Dan Akroyd - Trading Places

I remember this well from all those years ago. And I'm only 27! Well
written and well produced for the screen. The memory of watching this
has stayed with me all these years. I'd still have it on tape if
Betamax didn't go bust, =).

If you like films with a female lead that's not too sappy (perhaps like
those of Danielle Steel) or aggressively feminist (lesser known
characatures that bring down the point of feminism), then you'll like
this portrayal of a women who strives to make the best of the choices
she's got left.

Oh Tom berenger crushes must have started around this time. whoo.

Of course I have no idea what you're talking about... Okay, I'm lying. For some reason, this mini-series stuck in my head, and I'm 31, so I think I was only 12 when we watched this. Thought it was fantastic - really wanted to be the female character, who managed to be tough and feminine all at the same time.

Aaaah, Tom Berenger... sigh.

I had to be about 6 or 7 when this first aired and I remember going into my mom's room while she was watching it. It always stuck with me and when I was a freshman in high school I checked the book out of the library. I recently bought the book but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I wish this were on DVD!! lol

I'm a big tough girl. I tie my own sandals and everything.

I also remember this mini-series from years back and I'm 45 and
watched it back in 1986 when I was only 25! My mother loved it
as well and she was a huge fan of both Tom Berenger & Liam Neeson.
I have always loved Madolyn Smith Osborne and recall her first
role in "Urban Cowboy." If the movie ever gets a wide release on
dvd then I will surely buy a copy. My mom did read the book and
now I want to read it as well especially after reading all of
these very complimentary posts on IMDB. Anyone know if it exists
in audio book format? If not I'll read the novel. A wonderful,
great tv mini-series that so exemplifies the mid-eighties!
The hairstyles and fashions were fun to watch as well.

I must have seen this series when I was 14. I videoed it and watched it over and over again, along with others like Mistral's Daughter, Lace and Lace 2. I have nothing to add in terms of my memories of it, and would dearly love to see it again. Got into Sidney Sheldon's books because of it and it's a sad loss to wonderful airport trash literature that he's died.
