Amazing production - see Melbourne as it used to be

I haven't seen this mini-series until now that I'm 30 years old.

Seeing Melbourne as it was 22 years ago captured on film in such detail has been as fascinating as the film's story and real life events are. The characters are strong and the bursts of action and violence well done. It's also great to a see a cream of the crop of talented Aussie actors in their younger years.

I'm only halfway through it but it's been a great trip so far.

I came across this mini-series from another IMDB member who mentioned this show in some movie board that I forgot. I checked out this page and didn't see too much about the series other than it was an older drama and seemed to be well written. In addition, I researched the real life events and that only got me more interested. I watched all 6 episodes back to back and only wished they made another one like this.

I appreciate that they followed the real events as close as possible and were still able to maintain an atmosphere of suspense. The character development is great for such a short series and there is no suspension of disbelief required. The events depicted are gritty, realistic, thought provoking, and above all else entertaining. I agree with the person who wrote the review when he says "it's a shame the Australian industry don't make them like they used to".
