How about talking about the show?

Every post on here is about buying the show (almost...)

How about some discussion ABOUT the show.

My best freind and I used to have "Fresno" marathon parties back in the 80's. Of course - we never had a large group. I don't remember too much - but I seem to remember there was not huge ratings for this show. One reason is appealed to us so much is that we both loved Falcon Crest - and this was most directly a spoof of that show.

This was the show that gave me my first real appreciation of Charles Grodin. He was magnificent in this show. "What about me...?!?!?"

Loved the drink in the face bit. Especially the Bloddy Mary's.

Plus - they REALLY showed what a drink in the face was. No 1-2 OZ like you'd see on another soap. This is what it is like to have a full drink thrown in your face.

Great show - any other memories out there...?

I have always felt Grodin's work as Cain Kensington was the finest performance of his career...he was so funny in this...blew just about everybody else off the screen, with the possible exception of Carol Burnett.

I remember the bloody mary bits. I see this was 360 minutes (6 hours). It seemed at the time that it went on longer. Can someone tell me how many nights a week it was on. I recall someone falling in a grain silo and a trial at the end.

If I remember - it was on for a 2 hour start - and then ran hourly after that all in one week.

I also gained my appreciation for Charles Gordin after Fresno.

As for his best though - well - maybe - but Midnight Run was pretty good too...

I have the original airing on tape. I had to look for it to be sure I still have it. I loved it from the start when the Spanish were exploring and ate some grapes and said, Tastes like fresno!" I have not watched it in years but I am going to be sure to watch it! I love Terri Garr's part. A raisin dynasty! It was one of the best miniseries of the 1980's!
