Yet another example why Nielsen is a bad indicator


I mean come on they pre-empt a news show at thanksgiving for a show aiming at kids... and they thought this was going to be a good indicator of how popular the show would be? I mean it wasn't even a thanksgiving special it was an extended pilot. Sucks this never got a fair chance :(

We taped this off TV when it aired, and watched it repeatedly growing up. These days, you mention the movie, and nobody has ever heard of it! I have fond memories of this one, and hope Disney will release it in some form, so I can gift it to my nieces. If they are worried about sales, with so many films already on the market, they could just do a print-on-demand release, where they only produce the discs as they are sold. A lot of other networks/studios have increased their offerings through this type of release, and it's little risk to them! They should do the same thing with all of the unreleased Disney Afternoon cartoons they bailed on! They produced a random number of volumes for each series, and have no intention of releasing the remaining episodes, all because they didn't sell well enough...
