Terrible actor.
Not surprising since the other characters are cardboard cutouts and the situations about as plausible as Scooby-Doo.
In hindesite, only Smart and Potts make it work.

Lemme guess...another internet male neckbeard getting angry over a show that was never aimed at him? Of course, the neckbeard had to single out the one black character for his outrage because it wouldn't be the internet otherwise.

I really think you need to revisit this and study it more closely.
It is appalingly bad.
I couldn't define "token black man" any better than this series.
The men on the show, though written as slightyly chauvenistic, are actually more believeable.
The situations these women find themselves in wouldn't even work on The Lucy Show.
