20 Timeless Episodes?
Does anybody have any insight as to which episodes will be on the soon-to-be released "20 Timeless Episodes" of DW?

I think it's kind of nice they are releasing this. It's obviously redundant to a more hardcore fan who picks up the complete seasons, but the price point, Amazon is listing it for a mere $12 bucks, is great for a more casual viewer.
I love all those episodes you listed. And, as much I would like to see a few from seasons 6 and 7, I highly doubt they'll include any of these. My guess is they'll stick to seasons 1-5, the seasons featuring all 4 of the original leads. I'd be really surprised if there were any episodes featuring Jan Hooks, Judith Ivey, or Julia Duffy...which is a shame, there were a few gems in those seasons.

shareI love so many of the episodes Aztec mentioned. I do, however, hope they leave out any episodes from seasons 6 and 7. Since this set is obviously for the casual fan, it would be better served to have episodes with the original cast. I'll definitely be purchasing the set for friends if that's the case.
I know some will beat me up for saying this, but honestly, the majority (and notice I said majority) of fans couldn't care less about Jan Hooks, Judith Ivey, or especially Julia Duffy...so I hope they don't waste the space with episodes with them.
I would love to see "The Emperor's New Nose," when Bernice has plastic surgery. "Design House" is another favorite, and "The Beauty Contest." People quote Julia's lines from that episode to this day. I'd love any that feature Suzanne and her pig, as well.
The four original cast members made the show. Here's hoping it's 20 episodes of the best!
I appreciate everyone's positive response to the episodes I listed.
I would like to comment though on everyone's feelings towards the final two seasons. I too agree that the last two seasons are pretty lackluster compared to what many fans would call the 'Original Series' i.e. The Original Four Castwise. I like Julia Duffy as an actress, hated the character of Allison. I can say virtually the exact same thing regarding Judith Ivey's performance of BJ. I always kind of liked Carlene, and thought Jan Hooks managed to bring something unique to the character.
With all that being said, I think there is room for a few eps from the last two seasons on this collection. I mentioned The Big Desk and Of Human Bondage because they are not only the intros to two latter-day main characters, but these eps are actually pretty funny. And while Carlene's Apartment isn't the introduction of that character, it's a seriously funny episode which, IMO, really showcases the comedic talents of Hooks.
