Favorite episodes

I always loved the show. Some of the episodes have held up well and some not so. Two of my favorites are "The Wilderness Experience" where they go on the camping trip and the one about Mary Jo's fake breasts (can't remember the title).

My favorite episodes are the great Suzanne episodes: where the computerization of old Miss Georgia records uncovered a scoring error, so her title was going to be awarded to the rightful winner, then the episode where Suzanne and Julia went to Japan, then the episode where Suzanne, Charlene, and Anthony went to Las Vegas to recover her lost fortune at the crops table. Seeing her relationship with Anthony develop was great.

Suzanne, Charlene, and Anthony went to Las Vegas

It was Atlantic City

"Full Moon" (Suzanne with a semiautomatic! Watch out!)

"Suzanne Goes Looking For a Friend"

"La place San Souci"

All my favorite episodes are focused on Suzanne , who is my favorite character on the show.

My favorite non-Suzanne episode is probably "And Now, Here's Bernice".

I was an extra in the next to last season. I made sure to position myself behind the other extras and guest star to get a good sight of the camera. (lol)

It kind of ruined the experience for me, due to the time it took. It's not like the days of I Love Lucy where it's shot straight through, mostly. I was on the soundstage for a of couple hours and that was only the 2nd act of the show. I noticed Ms Carter sort of "co-directing". I don't even know why the audience would laugh anymore after repeated takes of a line/scene. I thought, "a costume fitting and rehearsal for this?

Bernice's sanity hearing was hysterical.

I think my all time favorite episode is Pearls Of Wisdom. It's the one where Mary Jo "borrows" a string of pearls from Suzanne and than proceeds to lose them. The episode itself isn't really exceptional. What makes this episode sing is the salad bar scene. The scene, in which Mary Jo and Charlene destroy a salad bar looking for the necklace, is straight out of I Love Lucy. Its easily one of the funniest scenes in the entire series.

While I agree with many fans that the last two seasons are most definitely the weakest of the series, I think there are still good episodes to be had. My favorite late addition to the cast (the less said about Allison Sugarbaker the better) is easily Carlene. Jan Hooks did a bang up job with a supporting character that could have been one note and unfunny (I'm looking at you Julia Duffy).

Season 6
The Big Desk
Picking A Winner
The Strange Case of Clarence & Anita
Julia & Mary Jo Get Stuck Under A Bed
Carlene's Apartment
I Enjoy Being A Girl
L.A. Story
Shades Of Vanessa

Season 7
Of Human Bondage
Mary Jo vs The Terminator
Screaming Passages
Too Dumb To Date
The Odyssey
Nude Julia New York Morning
Trial & Error
The Lying Game
Oh Dog Poor Dog

I'm nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday.

My favorite is definitely Tornado Watch.
It wasn't bad enough that they were in the path of a tornado, but they also had to be stuck with the craziest group of people. Love it!!

And my second fave is Wilderness Experience. Love the scene where Julia is sarcastic about she and Mary Jo being asked to wrestle and unexpecting Buck in the woods. Ha! Ha!

reply

Richard Sanders was hysterical in Tornado Watch.

And Anthony as Cindy Birdsong, giving his check to "some white girl."

That episode was titled "Big Haas and Little Falsie",and was hilarious!

The one where the weathergirl who's a lesbian comes to town and wants to hang with Suzanne, then invites them all to some place called the Pink Giraffe or something and they think it's a lesbian bar, Suzanne doesn't want to go by herself so they come with her, and when they show up they keep thinking they're being hit on. One of the funniest episodes of the series.

The episode with Monette the prostitute, where the guy is at that house and thinks the girls are prostitutes and tries to "buy" Julia

The Slumber Party. Classic.

The one with Lee Sing. I think it's called Oh Suzanna. I like that one because i know what it's like to get attached to a little kid like that
