Show makes me nostalgic for 1980's suburban sunbelt !

Its a show that represents a certain time and place in America. I was a small child when this show came on. I grew up in Northern Virginia/DC Metro area. Believe it or not, that area is much like Atlanta. I remember seeing beautiful businesswomen with big hair and shoulder pads. There was a longing for "The Old South". A little shop in a nearby town that sold Confederate memorabilia. I used to go to Tyson's Corner mall with my parents and we would eat at Roy Rogers. Life was simpler and the world was relatively peaceful. Its hard to explain, but it was a wonderful time and place to be growing up in the 1980s. I love that time period. I don't like this show other than nostalgia for the Regean/early George Bush era.

"Life is like a box of Krispy Kreme donuts".

It reminds me of _Tootsie_ and “Bosom Buddies."

You're absolutely right, and I also like the show for that reason

There is a kind of innocence ingrained in the era that's irresistible and difficult to put into words
