How should Dear John have ended?

There was potential for at least one more series. I think John should have got back with Wendy and Kate and Eric (not Kirk) should have got together.

In one of the episodes broadcast Wendy tells John he neglected her in favour of his career. IMO she had the affair with Mike because he gave her the attention she felt she wasn't getting from John. She realises that living with Mike was a mistake as he now neglects her in favour of playing rugby and going drinking with his rugby friends. Now that John is established as a teacher he has time for her and he now knows not to neglect her again.

Kate should meet Eric as Eric. She realises that Kirk was just a front. The more she sees of Eric the more she likes him. Eric realises that he can only get with Kate by being himself and not Kirk so he kills off Kirk.

That's how I think it should have ended. What do other people think?

That sounds pretty fair to me. I think Louise "Were there any sexual problems?" should have got a twist too, something like she had a thing for rough and rugged men.

I guess it's a nice way to wrap up a sitcom, but in reality would Kate (Tiger) go for Eric? I think not. She would feel sorry for him maybe but nothing would occur.
