That would be Richard J. Daley.
Given the time period when this was set, I knew while I was watching the first broadcasts what this show needed.
It needed the comic relief of Mayor Daley so often mangling his syntax and other verbal gaffes.

Sadly, Hollywood never checks with me.

A golden opportunity missed.

Any of the Daley's would have been neck deep in the plot if it were true to life. Most corrupt politics on the continent, still is.
