Road runner was Coyote's 'white whale'

The other day I saw an old one-liner I'd seen many times before, something like "if the coyote had money for all that ACME stuff, why didn't he just buy dinner?"
With way too much idle time, a similarity occurred to me - the coyote was Ahab, and the roadrunner was his obsession, Moby Dick.
What do you think?

It's hard to be original these days (take yourself for example).
Most themes are already done to death, tons of movies can be traced back to biblical references.
I think it was a humorous way of highlighting the foolishness of obsession, which was done most famously as a tragedy in mmmmmm, what was that classic? oh, yes! MOBY DICK!
