Great news! i kept emailing playback every month asking when they were going to release the rest of the series. i have been recording them onto a dvd from G.O.L.D (sky channel)

The last release was advertised as 'series 3 and 4' but is in fact only series 3 (which contains 13 episodes).
I contacted them about this and they made some excuse about going by what the original commission was for the series rather than what was actually made and broadcast. Very poor on their part.

pity i ordered it before i came on here, but it only cost less than £6 and that is ok for 13 episodes.
i think r.r.p was £25 so i would've been annoyed then!
i know to check imdb before i make other purchases...

shareI know this is a 5 year old post lol but im not shocked at this. PLAYBACK are awful! I bought the Tv show "Xena Warrior Princess: Season 1" on DVD which originally had something like 22 episodes..However, for some bizard reason they only had 18 episodes with three episodes repeated... (to make it look like they had the correct number of episodes in the box). I contacted them and got a very generic reply basically saying "Tough tits" I've never bought a PLAYBACK product since.

Yeah, i'll defebitly by these DVDs and without the Xmas Special's of 1988, 1989 and 1990 they'll be good ... but to have them included in the DVDs will make them a 1000 times better I think!

It's 1/2 a decade on from when this thread was started and there seems to be some mixed comments on when the rest of the Bread DVD series will be released. Playback, who originally brought out the series made a boo boo with incorrectly advertising Series 3 as including Series 4, and when contacted about certain glitches they've given political-style answers, so I guess they have bigger fish to fry than bringing out this series.
..... Having said all that I am hoping perhaps the BBC will bring it out themselves - by doing a complete box set version - so that'd get over the loophole of the individually released DVD.
