Since Josephine Tey died in 1952, she couldn't possibly have been approached by A&E and BBC 23 years after walking away from the earlier movie project to participate in the production of the Brat Farrar TV Movie of 1986 as sdiner82 claims in his review.

Yeah, I think sdiner82 got the backstory of this movie confused with the story behind Alfred Hitchcock's "Young and Innocent," which was based off a different Tey novel, "A Shilling for Candles."

And dark and true and tender is the North...

Other amazing goofs offered by sdiner82 include:

A&E and the BBC contacted Tey in the 1980's, by which time she had been dead for over 30 years (!!!!????) and "approached" her about making a mini series.

'Brat Farrar' debuted on PBS 'Masterpiece Theater', NOT on A&E!

sdiner82 also states that it's 155 minutes of running time was divided into 5 episodes (You read that correctly) for it's (non existent) broadcast on A&E, and that it was done that way to accommodate commercials.

So that means each episode contains 31 minutes of 'Brat Farrar' and 29 minutes of commercials (!!!!?????)

What was/is sdiner82 smoking?????
