They had the same last name as the family on Full House

Anyone ever notice that? A strange coincidence for two 80's sitcoms. ALF actually premiered a year before Full House did but I'm not sure which show was in development first. I just wonder if the Tanners on Full House were somehow related to the Tanners on ALF (not in real life of course) since both shows took place in California.

The other day, I posted a reply to the OP that went something like this:

Interesting point.

It would make sense if the shows were set in Florida, because of course the Sunshine State is home to a vast number of Tanners. 😉

Where did this message go? Was it deleted? If so, it wasn't deleted by me, the poster.

Strange...

Maybe the writers of the two shows knew each other or had worked together at some point. When writing a play, television show or film script, writers often use names of former friends, classmates, etc. Rod Serling was well known for doing that.

YOU (Joshwinkler87) and that balding fellow are EVERYWHERE!!!!! When are you NOT doing threads???? Get out of the house if it's a beautiful day. Make some friends. Be a YouTube critic or something. Quit hogging IMdb all the time. Let's give some other people a chance.

I smell a cross over episode! How awesome would that be? Not very actually but it would be interesting.

You just blew my mind. I've seen every episode of both shows multiple times and have never made this link. How I went 30 years without noticing this is boggling me!

Thought I was the only one to notice! :D

Thanks for clarifying that you didn’t mean related in real life.
