is this the movie where ... ?

Because I was looking for a movie where an older man wearing a hat goes into a restaurant and is served a bird (which was not chicken and somehow fancy), which then came back to life and squawked as it was being stabbed. And this is the first one fitting the bill for that. Apparently this is about being shot up with psychedelics and I was only 4 when I saw this, so I remembered it as being a surrealist film.
