Young Sherlock Holmes, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Romancing the stone, etc. (feel free to add more to the list)

They just don`t make movies like that anymore

There was an Indiana Jones rip off called High Road to China starring Tom Selleck, also the Conan films with Arnie.

these may not be perfectly in your genre grouping, but I super love flash gordon, legend, company of wolves...dark crystal, labyrinth...

who knew that the 80's movies would age so well? I have doubts that some of today's films will be as rewarding down the road.
