Piano melody Baryshnikov played

I have this entire movie memorized (English AND Russian)! I have always been extremely interested in learning the title/composer of the classical song that Baryshnikov played on the piano in one of the dance studio scenes. It was the scene where he and Gregory Hines' character squabble about "attitude."

I have scoured the musical credits, to no avail. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated! -CC

The piano piece played by Baryshnikov is the Waltz in A Minor, Op.posth.(KK IVb, No.11) Allegretto 1843? (1955), by Frederic Chopin. It's a beautiful piece. It was discovered long after Chopin's death.

I know that this reply is slightly late considering the dates of the last messages but anyways... :)
I was looking for the title of this piece of music for quite a while now, heard first in a French tv serial, and loved it, so now I'm very grateful for you, ae-woodall that you told us what it was.
Anybody who is interested, here is a link where you can find a recording of this piece (and other Chopin music):

They call it: Waltz A minor, 1847 [No. 19] there, and is free for download.
It is slightly different from what we heard in the film, this one is a lot slower. - But same tune, so it must be the same! :)

So ae-woodall, thank you very much for the title, and anybody who downloads it, enjoy! :)
It really is so beautiful! (sigh)

Ps: White Nights is my all time favorite film :) It's just so great that this lovely music was in it! Double enjoyment for me to watch it! :)

Do you happened to have this tune still available? I can't find it anywhere and would love to have a copy for my film soundtrack. Please write me at [email protected] (or [email protected] if, for some odd reason, your message gets bounced by FastMail). Thanks.
