The man sure had an interesting life. I've read every biography on Jack Kerouac. I can take the good with the bad.

Kerouac is an original. I can't think of anyone else like him.

I have his 1960 signature tatooed on my right arm.

Which Kerouac novel do you favor?

I love Dharma Bums. On The Road is still on the top 50 best all time books ever. I really liked the book. I'm also a big time Burroughs fan.

Going to Europe sounds pretty cool. Where in Europe are you going to be?

Kerouac made me want to write. I still read everything I can by and about him. It's a hobby of mine to go hunting through those forgotten little bookshops in search of Beat material. That might sound quite standard, but I live in South Africa, and finding a Kerouac is about as common as finding Elvis (the real one). Still, you get lucky. I picked up a copy of Neal Cassady's First Third last week at a charity sale in the middle of the Karoo desert.

We'll do it doggy-style so we can both watch X Files.
