A weak comedy, but still a Hanks classic.

Out of all Tom Hanks' 80's comedies, this is my least favorite, but not because of him, because of the story. Granted it does spoof a lot of older movies, but Tom Hanks was the only amusing part of this movie. As much as I love John Candy and as much as I love a movie with John Candy AND Tom Hanks, he didn't do much for me in this one. He played his character well, but most of the laughs came from Hanks. Rita Wilson is attractive, but she has never worked for me as an actress, which explains her narrow career in movies.
I just felt like it ended weakly. It started off so-so, coasted the entire movie, and ended sharply and not real convincing. I complain a lot, but for some reason I like this movie. As an 80's Tom Hanks comedy, I give a C+.

"You asked me to find the son of a bitch, sir, I never thought the son of a bitch would be you."

Congratulations! The most solipsistic comment on the whole of the Internet. My favorite is "Rita Wilson is attractive, but she has never worked for me as an actress, which explains her narrow career in movies." That certainly *does* explain 'it.' Ooompa oompa blah blah. Fart! FART!

As a fatuous blowhard ninny, I give you a double D minus plus with a sprinkling of stinky splatter. Hooray for the 21st century!
