I was born and raised in Spokane. It really is a great city. I think more movies should be filmed there, maybe at the Davenport or Riverfront Park.

Yes!! "Shoot to Kill" with Sidney Poitier, Tom Berenger, and Kirtsie Alley was filmed in Spokane. It's a great action movie with Sidney playing a San Francisco cop who's out of his element in the wilderness as he tracks down a cold-blooded killer.

I believe that parts of "The Vanishing" with Jeff Bridges and Keifer Sutherland was also shot in Spokane. But most of the filming for that movie took place in North Bend (the Texaco station where Sandra Bullock is kidnapped is still there) and West of the Cascades.

I'm not from Spokane, but I'm residing in Ellensburg and I'm a born and bred Seattlelite.

The movie FLASHBACK with Kieffer Sutherland and Dennis Hopper spent a little time in Spokane. Lived in Newport most my life, 50 miles north of Spokaloo.

Ever see Mozart and the Whale. Wow that one really shows Riverfront area and also the fancy restaurant scene is supposedly in the Davenport.

Shadow of Fear with James Spader is filmed here too.

I grew up in Spokane AND I was an extra in this movie! Unfortunately, in the pan & scan video version, you can't see me, but in the full screen theater version you could see most of me. Oooh, my claim to fame!

A lot of my classmates can be seen in the film. I went to Riverside HS out in Chattaroy and the casting director basically hired our entire school and paid our student body fund for us.

I no longer live in Spokane, but the majority of my family are still there. We like to visit whenever we can. I watch Vision Quest whenever I'm homesick.

I am from Minnesota, and Terry Davis is my professor at MSU. Great book by a very intelligent individual. I just thought I would add that I love how he continued his descriptions of Spokane in person. He really knows his stuff!

Terry Davis is also in the movie. The last scene during the wrestling match you see him chatting and cheering with Louden's teacher. It's kind of ironic because that scene is not written (or finished) in Terry's book, yet that is the only part in the movie that he appears.

I grew up in Spokane, and am actually moving back there this year. I remember when they were shooting it because they had some of the streets downtown blocked off and my dad said they were making some movie called Vision Quest.
Now I love watching it to see the locations and it's fun to make fun of it at times since I know the geography. For instance, when Louden gets off from work at the Ridpath he starts running south, when his house is apparently over by Felony Flats or Browne's Addition. And of course the opening scene of him running across the bridges is funny.

reply

Where is Felony Flats at and Browne's Addition at? What stree is it house on?

EDIT: nevermind, I know where Browne's Addition is at.
