Too old

Bond is an action character and he looks like a grandpa here, it just doesn't feel right, this dude wouldn't be allowed to be an active 00 spy in real life, Brosnan should have taken it from this one up until Die nother Day which was ridiculous but fun so i'll give it that.

It might be an unpopular opinion, but I loved Timothy Daulton as James Bond, and think that A View to A Kill would have been a good starting point for him.

I loved Roger Moore too, but I’d agree that he went at least a movie too long.

reply

Age aside, Moore was always too effete to be 007.

reply

Moore was the best.

Get fucked.

Roger wasn’t too old, he was younger than Tom Cruise is now who is still leaping out of aeroplanes, beating up roomfulls of people and crushing much younger pussy.

The problem is that Moore had some weird face lift which made his eyes unnaturally open, it looks like he’s starring in excited surprise at everything, and detracts from his classic Moore face.

It’s not a huge problem, the film is still awesome, but he should have saved the facelift for after his tenure as Bond.

And if Harrison Ford can make the fifth Indiana Jones movie at 80 years old or Michael Keaton could play Batman again in The Flash at 71 or so years old, then how exactly at 57-58, is Roger Moore "too old" to play James Bond? Exactly, how old is "too old" for a character like James Bond.

Imo the best Bonds are
1. Pierce Brosnan. Suave, handsome, self deprecating humor, witty and cool. Ideal Bond. Goldeneye was the best Bond movie

2. Sean Connery. While Sylvia Trench gave him the style by saying her name with her last name, first name last name, Sean Connery copied it and it became the iconic Bond, James Bond. He was also cool, suave and witty with funny dialogs. His movies were comical and cheesy at times but fun.

3. Roger Moore. Boyish charm and suave and cool for first several movies. Towards the end with Octopussy and A View To A Kill, he was looking quite aged and the boyish charm wore off fast. Kinda like the first Moneypenny who looked like a grandma at the end

4. Timothy Dalton. 2 movies which were decently Bond but he wasn't quite Bond

5. Daniel Craig. Average movies and not Bond like. Last couple were laughably bad. Just didn't get any Bond feel from his movies.

6. George Lazenby. Okay ish Bond with a one off.

New one must be Henry Cavill. He is Bond like and feels like Brosnan and Connery, back to suave, cool and handsome who can get women salivating at him believably.

“Salivating at him”? So you want to see women spitting at 007? Yuk!

Waitaminute! Out of which pair of her lips do you imagine a woman drooling?

reply

Salivating at something doesn't mean spitting in English. It means to drool over in excess due to intense excitement and anticipation.

It's used to describe eagerness in something.

If you check online dictionary like Mirriam Webster you will see examples like "she was salivating at the thought of traveling to Europe." It doesn't mean she was spitting crazily.
