Can somebody explain this character to me? In "Bloodlust" the left hand states that he's a parasite, but is there any explanation as to how he and D partnered up?

Not really. I've only read 3 of the books but they never fully explain how we got to D. I like the fact that's its a bit of mystery though. Not everything needs to be explained.

It is a parasite with special abilities like helping D heal, eating spells, etc. I think it's pretty damn durable too surviving absolute zero tempretures.
But I don't think they've yet explained how they got together.
