Why rated R?

I watch Anime with my 11 year old sister and she liked vampire Hunter d blood lust pretty much and she is dying to see this one, i would like to get it but is it rated R for sexual content ? she has no problem watching violence ( i know it''s weird) but the sexual content and nudity is what i worry about

It really doesn't have much sex, but alot of violence. Keep in mind, this is an 80s anime, so it's nowhere near as detailed or graphic in terms of the animation quality. Yes, it has sexual elements, but all good Vampire stories do.

Also, compared to the rape scene in Ninja Scroll, this is nothing.

It's a classic, I highly recommend for any anime fan.

LoL,this movie has the Gore! Bloodlust is Vampire Hunter D lite! In this 1985 film, the fights are very gorey and suspenseful-D fights his way out of the Count's castle by killing off henchman right and left. The nudity is sparse. I think Ninja Scroll is worse in terms of sex and violence than this one,but Vampire Hunter D the original has enough violence to be a hard R or NC-17 if it was live action. Gallons of blood and even some entrails! A head explodes !A man's hand is cut off on screen and rolls to the earth in full view of the camera, and there are several impalements and people cut in half by D! It is still a great movie, but a timid child should not see it in my opinion. A mature 13-14 year old who has seen a lot of action films could probably hang with it,but it has a darker, more horror feel to it than Bloodlust,so you are warned!

It's PG-13.

yes there are brief moments nudity, but not any sex, really. Haha there are short scenes with anime tits and a$$ but it the movie was mostly rated R for the violence (as some people already said).

Easy answer to the question: "For a reason". I wouldn't give it to my 11 year old sister.

What? Is your 11-year-old sister scared of PG-13-level violence?

huh?? there was nudity in this movie? I watched it last night and I didnt see any nudity.. *looks confused* there was plenty of gore and violence though...

reply

The nudity is when they first show those three snake sisters before they get ugly, and when it shows Doris taking a shower. It also shows a bit of Doris' cleavage and belly after D refuses to bite her.

Welcome to my Nightmare- Freddy Krueger

I first saw it when I was 10. But then again, I was unusually sophistocaed fore my age.

There are three brief nude scenes I remember.

The scene with Doris in the shower, the one with the three Snake Sisters, and one scene where some old guy turns into some kind of ghoul and tears open Doris's shirt and her breast pops out, and in the next scene the shirt is completely fine.

Neither of the scenes with Doris had anything to do with the plot; they could be edited out and no one would notice anything was missing.

I saw this movie when I was 6... and nothing disturbed or scared me... except the scene with Fluke, which made me afraid of horses. lol
