Who saw this on TBS in the early 90's?

I did! i was 11 years old the year it came out on both video and TV, it was November of 1993 as i was looking to see what horror, Sci-fi, action or fantasy movie will play since i grew up on that stuff as i looked in the TV guide and stated Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival etc. as said three animated Sci-fi fantasy stories and i watched them, i loved them. I also loved Rock and Rule (Which i taped that year as well), i got a great taste of anime with VHD and Robot carnival.

Do you also remember Warriors of the Wind (the original US butchered version of Nausicaa), Jack and The Beanstalk, Unico 1 & 2, and other classic anime as a kid too?

reply

Yes, I saw it on TBS back then. I was very unfamiliar with anime back then, and this was the first one I had ever watched outside of stuff like Battle of the Planets, which of course was heavily edited and butchered for us kiddies. It was so strange, yet captivating at the same time.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

Yep I saw it on the sci-fi channel and instantly fell in love with the character and the story. Been a fan of D ever since.

Not me! Did anyone else see it at their friend Mike's house when they were in high school? I did!

Big Mike or Little Mike?

You are sin.

reply

Both actually. My buddy Mike's dad's name was also Mike. I should have been more clear in my OP.

I saw it on Sci-Fi Channel Festival of Anime first. I recorded it off TBS, but they cut out most of the gore. Sci-Fi kept the gore in but cut out words like "bastard" for some reason, which TBS kept in.
