Why marriages of 30+ years often breakup, the women hits menopause and the sexual desire/lust thing goes out the windowlooks elsewhere. NOTHING prepares you for this, husband or wife. And few movies explore the phenomena.

A guy still might find his wife attractive and want to continue their sexual relationship, but she couldn't care less any more, and assumes it's okay to sentence him to celibacy for the rest of his life. It's unfortunate, but sometimes understandable why men leave marriages that have become platonic and go to younger women.
