An example of the distinctly New York City nature of the movie Turk182! was the cameo appearance of Bill Beutel, the popular longtime WABC anchorman who passed away recently. Bill was a true friend of NYC's everyday heroes, whether they be a courageous New York fireman like Terry Lynch or someone like Jimmy Lynch who is willing to fight the system.
I hope all fans of the movie Turk182! will remember Bill Beutel and will try always to find the hero within themselves.
I miss all the great news people in the New York area as I've been in California for 10 of my 33 years. I remember both Roger Grimsby and Bill Beutel on WABC as well as the great sports guy Warner Wolf CBS.....let's go to the videotape. My dad was one of those heroes and they did a story on him once, a highlight of my childhood, and probably my fathers' life although being the old school tough Bronx born and raised guy he was, he never made a big deal about it. Beutel didn't do the story of course, a field reporter, whose name escapes me did, but Beutel commented and it was great.
