Does anyone really think Frankie was worth all that trouble?

I mean yeah she was hot but so are a million other girls in the world. Frankee was a crook, gangmember, & rebellious teenager(maybe the attraction).

She caused Morgan some serious beatings, his bike being destroyed(which she escaled the situation), she helped pick on him, she got his father shot.

I wouldve just said F it because shes not excatly perfect in anyway. All she has is looks with a rough personality.

I don't think she was worth it. I don't even think she was that pretty. Take away that hair and sexy clothes, she's average looking.

Yes! It's all about the hair ...

When I first saw this, I thought Spader's character was so cool, and Kim Richards was so hot.

On watching it again, her character is a whore, and his character is a spoiled brat. She isn't even that hot ... must've been an 80's hair thing, LOL! :D

She definitely wasn't worth it, even if she was hotter.

I thought he was a spoiled brat when I saw it in the 80's but she was always super hot with those long locks, but I might just not watch it again and keep the memory good! LOL

reply

At the time YES, I thought Frankee was well worth it. Loved her and that hair.

I'd say yes. It's all about rescuing her from the gang. At first she didn't want out, but as she got to know Morgan she was really fascinated by the straight life.

In real life it's not so often that you can change people, or save them. But Morgan did, and all the good guys came out alive. Morgan's father said "Now you do whatever it is you really want to do... what you know is right, and you believe in. And feel good about it." And it worked. That's really powerful for me somehow.

I agree that Frankie is not all that but I don't think her friend was better looking. Not even close.

I don't think it was worth it at all, especially since they end up putting his dad in the hospital.

The way he forced her to dance with him and the way he kidnaps her, these were supposed to be positive things he did to win her over, but I think his character would have turned into a stalker if she hadn't started returning his affections.

True but if you remember she was always giving him that love look even in the beginning when she first sees him when he throws beer in the gang's face she looks intrigued. Next when they messed with his bike and he gets a good look at her she gives him a look back. Even when they are dancing at first she pushes him away but then he dips her and she is into it. Even at his locker she smiled as she walked away and does it again in Nick's car when he says nice smile and she says thanks. Even though she is fighting him off she is still doing things to show she is interested. Of course I agree that I don't think she was worth the trouble. Any normal guy would have told her to go a fly a kite especially after they shot his father.

reply

In real life, yes, the shooting should have been the end of it. But that would have left Morgan as a loser, even more than he already was in the eyes of his family. What he did instead was to keep fighting for Frankie's freedom. I like to think that after Morgan's father recovered, he would have been happy to see Morgan and Frankie happy together.

But it's not really about whether or not it was worth it. It's that winning a just fight is better than losing. A better question is, do you think that it was a just fight, or do you think Morgan should have stayed away from Frankie to begin with?

reply

No I don't think she was worth all that trouble. She was hot but that isn't enough in the end. I think she was attracted to Morgan because he is the opposite of Nick, he also offered a way out of the gangs for her. But the problem is she seems the type to find someone else soon after that offers her another type of adventure. Remember that she basically cheats on Nick with Morgan that doesn't show much loyalty even if Nick was a major douche.

I don't think that she got his father shot though, that was all on Nick and she does stay with the father afterwards instead of going off with Nick. So that is an act of redemption in the movie world at least.
