Bus scene....WOW....

Possible mini spoiler so I'll put it under the spoiler cut....

The scene on the bus when Mrs. Watt was talking to Thelma about her true love, that was the most perfect acting I have ever seen. Here we are looking at an old woman and you can feel her young love being taken away through her words. Like you were right there with her when it happened. It's so easy to forget that the elderly were young once too and feel and felt emotions just as deeply as young people do. And her pain was just as deep sitting on that bus as it was when it happened to her all those years ago. It was like it happened to her just the day before. So powerful....she definitely deserved that Oscar!

Well said, I agree 100%. The scenes where Mrs. Watts holds out the pendant with the photos in it and cries, and talks about her lost babies....gets to me every time.

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
