Jessie Mae tries to make her walk instead of run, yet.....

.....she seemingly forces Mrs. Watts to do all the housework!!

I kept hoping Mrs. Watts would just slap Jessie Mae.

"My heinie's asleep."
"Fine, we'll keep our voices down."

I thought so too! I thought Mrs. Watts was too forgiving of Jessie Mae. I was hoping Ludie would grow some balls and stand up to Jessie and in the end he did for a second.

Ludie drove me nuts too! But then, I guess there are abusive wives as well as husbands.
The look on Jessie Mae's face when Ludie finally grew a pair was priceless!

I think even though he only did it for a a few moments it changed things a little.
Jessie Mae would never know when and if Ludie'd do it again.

Mrs. Watts was too sweet and kindly to slap his son's wife, no matter how much she deserved it. I damn well wanted Jessie Mae to get a slap, too, but it would have spoiled the sweet image of Mrs. Watts. She's not that kind of lady.

Ludie needed to grow a pair and stand up for his mother. Spineless prat.
