Mel Brooks Wannabe
I watched this last night and it really came across like it wanted to be a Mel Brooks movie but, to me, failed. I was like, uh...
Anyway...

Agreed. I'm watching this for the first time since I was kid (before I even knew who Mel Brooks was) and all growed up and learned as I am now: Holy crap, this is trying to be a Mel Brooks movie! And it's weak sauce baby. Weak as hell.

Yes, it is.
Never thought that, but I can see it.... Either way, I love this movie.

I know that people like to put Mel Brooks on a cloud but to be perfectly honest this is just as good as anything we saw in 'Spaceballs' lol.
"Mr. Treehorn treats objects like women, man."
Spaceballs and Transylvania 6-5000 are both very good if you like silly humor, and pretty similar. Carol Kane following John Byner around announcing that she's trying to be a good wife, or Michael Richards trying to get Ed Begley Jr. to agree to slip on a banana peel, if you don't think that's funny, that is too bad, and you might not like Monty Python. Rudy De Luca started writing _Transylvania 6-5000_ in the '70s, and he also was credited on dozens of episodes of the Carol Burnett Show and e.g. cowrote Silent Movie in the '70s.
shareRudy de Luca is a compadre of Brooks. Has been a writer on many Brooks films. Has been IN many Brooks films.
