Trancers soundtrack in the works

Hi all,

I've been slowly recreating the electronic soundtrack music from the Trancers film, based on what I can hear on the crappy R1 DVD release. If you use the Soulseek music sharing network, you can probably it on there.

So far I've done:

10 Seconds (the slow motion watch sequence)
Finding Ashby (the scooter search)
Jack Stays (the end part before the credits)

Is anyone interested if I make more?

Mike.

One of my favorite aspects of the movie has always been the haunting opening- and closing-credit music - nice eerie chords, that creepy piano line, etc.

reply

Hell yeah, I'm interested. If it's an accurate re-creation, that is. :)

reply

hell yeah man, when I saw that the trancers soundtrack was in the making I was in shock because I have been searching for that soundtrack all over, its bad ass. And so are the movies

reply

Abso-freakin'-lutely, yes. I do not have Soulseek but I'd love to have this. You absolutely gotta get to the opening and closing titles. =D

reply

I'm interested

I am, please contact me at [email protected] please.

There is a reason. :)

Story

I emailed Full Moon recently to see if they had any Trancers related soundtracks (the credits of T3 mentioned that a soundtrack was availible, but I don't think it was actually released) and they replied that they are "looking at a best-of compliation soundtrack" some time next year.

We shall see... In the meantime I just ordered a copy of Main Title Madness, the old Moonstone Records compilation of various Full Moon themes. Sadly, the only Trancers music is the opening theme from Trancers 4, by Gary Fry. That theme, if you'll recall, is completely different to the previous three.

Wow, I didn't realise there were replies to my message. It didn't notify me via email for some reason. Well, work has kind of delayed my work on this but I hope to resume it. It's a little hard to hear some of the music in the film at times and make out bass lines, etc, so some of it may be guess work.

I also got that response from Full Moon - a best of compilation. Shame about it not being the lovely original theme though.

reply

Please man, when you're done, post for us okay, like rapidshare or something, we love the Trancers music!!!!

Any movement on the recreated soundtrack?

I'd love to hear it!

Anything new?

They've just released a FULL MOON ARCHIVE MUSIC boxset which features the trancers theme.

The English will not be pushed around much longer...

I'm still waiting...

Dark Knight: the best movie ever!O.K., nice joke. This flick is garbage compared to T2!

reply

Sorry about the delay, it's been almost three years since I started!

I have also made a start on The Kiss, when Jack Deth and Leena kiss in the warehouse, and City of Angels, when Jack comes out of the water and is approached by McNulty to get back on the job.

The worst part is that the sound quality of the DVD is so poor that it's hard to know what I have heard is right.

The main opening theme is proving to be the most difficult to get right.

Good to hear you're still around. Any chance I could get your email and keep in touch with you that way? Really would look forward to having some sounds of Trancers.

Another forum user offered to send the original soundtrack to anyone who PMed him a while ago - I did and sure enough was sent a link to download it. IT was all 31 original cues (no titles). I've since uploaded it to Cinemageddon, but could upload a rar file to Mediafire if you guys like.

Give a thousand monkeys a thousand laptops and they'd all be writing their stupid opinions on IMDB.

reply

I PM'd them as well but they never got back to me.

** Please do share it!!!! Please, please, please??? **

reply

I also would love a copy of that score. I have wanted this soundtrack for years. Please PM so I can get it.

Thank you very much.

reply

I grabbed the copy that djsmokingjam put up at cinemaggedon, (Thanks dude!) and have titled the tracks based on where they appear in the film, repaired the audio errors that were on three of the tracks, and made some quick cover art.

Anyone who is interested can grab it here...

Awesome job Antman, LOVE the cover art! You should put this up as an upgrade at CG :)

reply

I would, but I don't have enough uninterrupted bandwidth to host a torrent. If you'd like to upgrade it at cinemageedon, I say go for it. I'm surprised more people aren't after this actually. Maybe it's not quite the cult hit I always thought it was??

reply

I wouldn't be so sure about that! ;)

I've been looking for this soundtrack for around a decade! I've checked IMDB every now and then, but got used to the search going nowhere. Now I've checked back and downloaded the thing, I still can't believe it actually exists! :P

The quality surpasses what I would have expected - even that of the Trancers theme available in the Full Moon Archive from Sunset Records.

I would love to know where this came from...

reply

Thanks for that mate, it's lovely! Comparing the originals with my recreations is also interesting, the originals are far better. Love the opening theme.

reply

Yes, thank you!

reply

If you can count me in that would be great.

reply

I've been after this soundtrack since about 1988. I cannot believe I now have it and am listening to it as I type this, thank-you so much for putting it on Rapidshare.

reply

I just love you man, I mean, I really love you! :)
