Why Julie and Wanda weren't killed?

They were killed, just not on-screen. I'm not sure why they decided on this, though.

Julie and Wanda weren't killed. They appear in a deleted scene; one bandaged from the burn scars in the sauna scene and one bald from having her hair sheared off with the scissors Toxie held menacingly above her. I haven't the foggiest idea why the scenes found their way to the cutting room floor.
