I agree with ya on this one. I love the 80 teen movies and Betsy Russell.

I know what you mean about that lonniemac! I just bought this though a couple of weeks ago in a 12 disc DVD box set called Too Cool For School Collection. I just thought that I would let you know about it guy. I am sure you have purchased a DVD version of it since you last posted 4 years ago.

I agree with you as well. "Tomboy" delivers loads of enjoyably dopey 80's teen comedy fun, with the highly tasty and attractive Betsy Russell radiating lots of charm and sex appeal as the title character. Rhino has issued a bunch of Crown International drive-in exploitation features on DVD, so hopefully they will release "Tomboy" on DVD in the immediate near future.

DVD came out 8/22/06.

Thanks for the tip, the digital terror. I just purchased a copy of the DVD for only seven bucks at a local Best Buy; it's a nice digitally remastered widescreen (!) print with four trailers for other Crown International drive-in flicks as the sole extra.

No problem. Yeah I thought it was going to be a cheap full screen version, but I was surprised is was 16x9. BCI/Brentwood are getting with there releases.

Just ordered it myself for the equivalent of a lousy $6. Should arrive in a few days. I´m just amazed that they actually have dignified it with a decent 16:9 release. Was expecting a full screen print taken from some old worn out VHS master.

Be aware: If you care about such things (and if you're watching TOMBOY, I bet you do), the "widescreen" DVD appears to just be a matted version of the fullscreen edition, so you actually LOSE more of the movie.

I only noticed this during the shower scene, where former full frontal nudity by Kristi Somers became mere toplessness. I had to compare the 2 versions to be sure. (Same thing happened with FRATERNITY VACATION, btw, in Barbara Crampton & Kathleen Kinmont's scene.)

Damn, that´s good news!

I know you more than likely know about this but it has been released in a 12 disc box set already. I bought the Too Cool For School Collection two weeks ago and have enjoyed watching this film along with many other films from the 70's and 80's.

I just found this in a DVD box collection at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago it will be this Friday with this movie in it along with 11 other film classics from the 70's and 80's. I only bought it for $9.99 and the DVD box set is called Too Cool For School Collection. I hope that makes you happy to hear about it.

Now you can watch this film classic anytime you want to!
