I will miss this board

Nice meeting everyone here!

Yes, the decision to close the message-boards is beyond belief really.

I don't have Facebook or twitter (deleted my Facebook last year) and I am not going to re-register.

I suppose they are tired of moderating.......not that there will be any less moderating on Facebook.

I don't understand this.

I'm absolutely gutted that IMDb is disabling the message boards, just ridiculous. I'd like to thank everyone who has made the Threads board such an interesting pleasure to read over the years especially the respect shown to people's posts, it has always been friendly here. I will miss this board immensely! Also thanks to gregg-233 for the recommendation of Children of The Dust, I've just finished reading it and really enjoyed it. I will really miss you guys.☹️

It sure is a shame. Threads was my fave board to read. See ya'll.

Thanks guys, you really enhanced my Threads experience. Thanks gregg-233 and jslavik for the reading recommendations. Children of the Dust was great and I doubt I never would've discovered it if not for you.

I hope you all have an enjoyable apocalypse.....

It'll be sad to see the IMDB boards go bye bye. Threads was a good board to come to and post on. Especially those with "nuke-fetish's" and what not.

Little known. fact, if an IMDB board thread got to 600 postings it locks. but there is a way to sneak in a 601 posting. We do this every year on the Halloween III season of the witch board. It became a yearly thing to lock a certain thread on the Halloween night each year for the past 7 or 8 years. It'll be sad to see the board on the Death Wish 3 forum go away. there's a thread there that is 10 years old about all the things you learn from watching Death Wish 3.

So it goes... I remember back in the early 2000's Rollingstone.com doing the same thing, shutting down their message boards.

So where's everybody gonna go?

reply

I tried suggesting rottentomatoes, but that requires a facebook-login to work, which I no longer have and refuse to register.

I am lurking around in other sections of these forums, there are discussions about setting up a IMDB-like forum somewhwere else, petitions and whatnot.

Right now, it's not clear, but if/when, in time, alternatives may pop up.

I thought RT, but it looks pretty dead.

...and we're back. Nice.
