If it were to be remade now..does anyone think it would be cool to cast Matt Dillon as Charlie and maybe Diane Lane as Bryons mom...just to kinda keep it in the world of Hinton movies. I think this movie is in real need of a remake. It was definatly my favorite of Hinton's books and this current version just does not do it justice at all.

I donno. I think it would be cool if they remade The Outsiders too. I haven't seen this one eyt but probably will rent it soon sicne I jsut finished the book. Made me wanna friggin shoot Mark.
shareTo remake The Outsiders would be a travesty. Although it was sort of remade in the new version on DVD. Coppola put all new music and new scenes in and it just didn't work for me. And when you finally see TWTTIN you will want to shoot Emilio Estevez for a crappy version and will be begging for a better one.

Wow. TWTTIN wasn't what I wanted it to be. I was real disappointed. I couldn't fidn the movie to rent... so I bought it. Thank god it was in the clearence bin though, it aint worht more than the $7 I payed for it. This isn't gonna make me stop watching Emilio movies, I'm waiting for "Bobby" to come out.

I just think it would be great to have Matt Dillon in it as Charlie...it be a great nod to the old movies. I like your choice of Radcliff for M&M. Good thinking. I dont know about Jennifer Tilly though...I can never take her seriously.

I don't know about Radcliffe. I kinda pictured M&M as a small boy and Radcliffe seems to have hit the grown side more. Brenda Song would make a good Cathy though!
shareOk you guys are probably like 12. You are picking all these people from "teen" shows. That is probably THE worst cast list I have ever seen. I personally don't think that it would be a good choice to make Diane Lane Bryon's mom. She just looks too young. Also when I was reading the book I pictured Charlie as a middle aged blonde haired guy. Not fat like everyone else is saying. If the remade this now I think that Emilio would be an interesting choice for Charlie. I actually liked the movie better because the book was a downer. I'm glad the movie made it come out as an ok-ending-for-what-the-situation-is-without-making-it-too-gushy kinda thing. It would be a crime to remake The Outsiders. That movie wasn't the best, but the fact that it had all those big time stars when they were first starting out was Awesome! They would never remake that.
shareI agree with you like 90%. Except I liked the book better cause it hit me somewhere once I reached the end, but everyone had different reactions so I respect your opinion.
I do have an idea for a cast but I'm not sure who would like it because when I read it, I pictured everything in the current times so I could relate to it more since I wasn't really into the late 60's. Espeacially the urban areas.
I'll post it up anyway but keep in mind that this was for current times. It'll be interesting but I doubt it'll turn out that way. Alright?

sharewell no offense but I think soap opera stars are the worst in the buisness a lot of actors leave soap operas and then cant get a job anywhere else b/c they suck. I mean one girl from this soap opera I watch left the show to do "Bigger and Better Things" then couldnt get a job so she ended up on a different soap opera..... case in point.
