Is it R?
Hi I am reading the book,and I REALLY wanna see the movie. I was wondering if it's R, and if it is, then could you tell me if it's for violence, language, or what. Thanks! :)
"That Was Then, This is Now" (1985), Running Time: 1hr&42mn, Rated "R" by the MPAA for Adult Situations, Strong Language, Adult Humor, Drugs, Violence and Mild Gore.
MY TAKE: **1/2 (Out of ****) - This movie is okay, but nothing more. It could have been a better movie. As it is, it plays like a made for TV 'after-school special'.
The only content that brings this movie into the 'R' rated realm is the profanity, chiefly the 'F-Bomb'. The number of uses 'F-Bomb' probably doesn't exceed twenty times. Delete ALL uses of this word and this movie probably would be a 'PG-13'. The rest of the content of 'TWT...TiN' is well in the 'PG-13' rated range (the subject matter, humor, drugs, violence & mild gore is not excessive and is handled tastefully).

Do you still plan to see the movie? I don't think 'mainstream' video stores would carry it. I'm sure 'Netflix' does. I actually purchased my copy from Amazon.com (even though I think it's a mediocre movie, I wanted to collect ALL the S.E. Hinton films).

Yes i do plan to see the movie. They dont have it at my local video store. So I would probably have to get it at Amazon.com? I also want to get all the S.E. Hinton Movies. She's brillant :)
